Praised by Classical Music Daily for her “pure, lovely tone and captivating emotion” and by the San Diego Story as a “dulcet soprano”, American soprano Lily Prado is quickly making a name for herself as a lyric coloratura soprano.

In the 26/27 season, Lily will make house debuts with San Diego Opera singing Barbarina in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro and Opera Santa Barbara singing the role of Bess in Bohmler’s new American opera Riders of the Purple Sage.

In competitions, Lily has been awarded Encouragement & Audience Choice Awards in the 2025/2026 Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition (San Diego District), 1st Place in the 2025 Whittier Regional Symphony Young Artist Competition, & 1st Place in the 2024 Sigma Alpha Iota PAC Aria Competition.

In the 25/26 season, Lily sang in San Diego Opera’s holiday concert series “Making Merry” with her husband, Felipe Prado, & Resident Conductor of San Diego Opera Bruce Stasyna. Lily also sang for Maestro Yves Abel in a public masterclass hosted by San Diego Opera, in addition to other concerts with the company.

In Los Angeles, Lily has recently been seen as Johanna in Sweeney Todd with Pacific Opera Project in their touring production, Pamina in Die Zauberflöte with both Angels Lyric Opera and Landmark Opera, Gilda in Rigoletto with Woodley Concert Corner, Valencienne in The Merry Widow with Mission Opera, Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi with Landmark Opera, Frasquita in Carmen with both Valley Opera and Guild Opera, and Sarah in James Domine’s new opera Luke & Sarah (premiere) with the San Fernando Valley Symphony.

Finally, Lily made recent debuts with Opera Laguna as Princess Margaret in Romberg’s operetta The Student Prince & Opera à la Carte San Diego singing Luigia in Donizetti’s comedy Le convenienze ed inconvenienze teatrali.

Mrs. Prado holds a Master of Music from the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music at California State University Long Beach, where she graduated in Spring 2026.
