Lyric Coloratura Soprano

Lily Prado (formerly Berthold) is an operatic soprano based in Southern California.

Recently, Lily sang in San Diego Opera’s holiday concert series “Making Merry”. In November, she sang for San Diego Opera’s “Opera Uncorked” event, Pamina in Die Zauberflöte with Angels Lyric Opera, and won the Encouragement Award & Audience Choice Award in the 2025/2026 Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition San Diego District.

Upcoming, Lily will be seen in a Masterclass with Maestro Yves Abel through San Diego Opera & as a chorister with the San Diego Opera in their 2025-2026 season. Lily will also be singing for the Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition San Diego District’s “Winners Concert” on January 18th. In February Lily will be premiering the role of Sarah in James Domine’s new opera Luke & Sarah with Guild Opera in Los Angeles, California.

In competitions, Lily won Encouragement & Audience Choice Awards in the 2025/2026 Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition (San Diego District), 1st Place in the 2025 Whittier Regional Symphony Young Artist Competition, Top 4 Finalist in the 2025 Burbank Philharmonic Young Artist Competition, 1st Place in the 2024 Sigma Alpha Iota PAC Aria Competition, & 3rd Place in the 2024 Randy Nelson Vocal Competition.

Mrs. Prado is in the second year of her Master’s Degree, attending Bob Cole Conservatory of Music (BCCM) at California State University Long Beach, graduating in Spring 2026. At BCCM, she has sung the role of Pamina in Die Zauberflöte, as well as scenes in the roles of Adina (L’elisir D’amore) & Donna Anna (Don Giovanni). Lily will give her Graduate Recital in the Spring of 2026, featuring works by Bellini, Verdi, Donizetti, Rossini, & Liszt.
